This is a transcript of an interview I did with the Charlie Foxtrot community for ArmA2. A year or so after doing it, Charlie Foxtrot dissolved – I’ve rehosted the interview here for historical purposes.

TrackIR5 in ArmA2
TrackIR5 & ArmA2 Premiere.
It is my distinct pleasure to present the brand-spankin’-new TrackIR5, as seen in ArmA2. Have a look at the video, either on Youtube or via direct download:

A brief summary is that TIR5 + ArmA2 is frickin’ sweet, and I’m really excited to be showing it off in such a capacity. Thanks to both NaturalPoint and Bohemia Interactive for the opportunity.
The TIR5 has a number of neat improvements over prior models, as detailed to a degree in the video, and in further detail below. On top of that you have a number of welcome changes to A2 to better support the TIRs in it, and then of course we have A2 itself being shown off in wonderful 1280×720 HD for anyone who would like to see it in action. Both A2 and TIR5 are really slick packages, and I think that both will be well-received by the community.

Speaking of special…
The most recent issue of PC Gamer UK sports a feature in which they cover the “200 best things about PC gaming”, in no particular order. In it, at slot #95, there’s a bit on ‘Massively Co-Op Games’, depicted below (click for a readable version). At the end of it is a link, which goes to – yep, you guessed it – a ShackTac ArmA video. Now, mind you, this is not a random chance happening – we’ve hosted a PC Gamer editor in our sessions before, and to paraphrase him, he didn’t see the true full potential of ArmA until he had played with Shack Tactical in our sessions. High praise indeed, and to have it make it’s way into the top 200 things of all of PC Gaming?
